The Robert Saleh era with the Jets has officially come to an end.
“This morning, I informed Robert Saleh that he will no longer serve as the head coach of the Jets,” chairman Woody Johnson announced in a statement on Tuesday morning.
Five weeks into Saleh’s fourth season, with the team expected to compete for a Super Bowl, the Jets found themselves at a disappointing 2-3. Saleh’s tenure ends with a 20-36 record and no playoff appearances.

Head Coaching Debut Ends in Defeat
Saleh’s Jets lost his debut game on the road to the Panthers, 19-14, on Sept. 12, 2021.
Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 draft, struggled in his first career start.
In a preview of issues to come, the offensive line was a disaster, and the situation worsened when former first-round pick Mekhi Becton suffered a knee injury and was carted off the field. He would miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
