ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK - OCTOBER 20: DeAndre Hopkins #10 of the Tennessee Titans watches from the sidelines before the game against the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly finalizing a trade to acquire DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN. This move comes as the Chiefs look to bolster their receiving corps, which has been hit hard by injuries to Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown, and JuJu Smith-Schuster.

In exchange for Hopkins, the Chiefs are expected to send a fifth-round pick to the Titans, which could escalate to a fourth-round selection depending on certain conditions.

This season, Hopkins has recorded 15 catches for 173 yards while playing for a Titans team that has struggled, managing just one win and facing quarterback issues. He also dealt with a knee injury during training camp, but fortunately, it did not require surgery. Last season, Hopkins had a more productive year, finishing with 75 catches for 1,057 yards in Tennessee.

Hopkins is the third notable wide receiver to be traded in the last eight days. Last week, the Las Vegas Raiders dealt Davante Adams to the New York Jets, while the Cleveland Browns sent Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills. Additionally, the Los Angeles Rams have been in discussions with teams regarding a potential trade for former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp.

Despite facing injury challenges, the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs hold the best record in the NFL at 6-0. The team has been actively seeking a receiver to support quarterback Patrick Mahomes, particularly with Brown expected to miss the remainder of the regular season due to shoulder surgery he underwent last month for a preseason injury. Rice is also out for the season following surgery on his right knee after being injured during a win against the Los Angeles Chargers. Schuster missed Sunday’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers due to a hamstring injury.
