The Dallas Cowboys may not have earned style points for their "Thursday Night Football" win, but they'll gladly take the sloppy victory that snapped a two-game losing streak.
In a penalty-heavy contest at MetLife Stadium, the Cowboys defeated the New York Giants 20-15. The two teams combined for 15 penalties, with the Cowboys accounting for 11 of them.
First-half touchdowns from Rico Dowdle and CeeDee Lamb helped Dallas build a 14-6 lead by the second quarter, and that cushion proved insurmountable for the Giants. Despite settling for five field goals from kicker Greg Joseph, the Giants' offense failed to find the end zone—a recipe that fell short against Dallas' high-powered attack.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was efficient, completing 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns. Lamb contributed seven catches for 98 yards and a score. Prescott extended his winning streak against the Giants to 13 consecutive starts.
New York's offense struggled to generate explosive plays, with quarterback Daniel Jones throwing for 281 yards on 29 completions. Rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers had a strong showing with 12 receptions for 115 yards but was taken to the locker room late in the game due to a concussion. Running back Devin Singletary was stifled by the Cowboys' defense, managing just 24 yards on 14 carries, despite Dallas having allowed 274 rushing yards the previous week.
The victory evened the Cowboys' record at 2-2, while the Giants dropped to 1-3, now sitting alone at the bottom of the NFC East.
However, the Cowboys will be concerned about injuries to key defensive players. Micah Parsons was carted off late in the game, and DeMarcus Lawrence also left with an injury.
